Designed for private lesson teachers, musicians who want to learn more about the care and maintenance of their instruments, and for those exploring if becoming a master repair technician is a career option.
This course will teach you all the fundamentals of repair and you will learn how to do a proper Clean, Oil, Adjust service of a Clarinet.
Based on four years on Zoom classroom teaching, feedback and surveys, we have refined our approach to learning instrument repair – Leveraging the power of Canvas LMS we now provide learning at a pace everyone can achieve, allowing our students to watch the video and written content, submit assignments and attend Live Classes, One on One Lessons and Work-alongs as scheduled on the Canvas calendar throughout the course intake.
Level 1 includes: 4 Live Classes, 4 Private Lessons, 4 Work-Alongs.
Live Classes are held on Zoom, where each session will be recorded – These are Masterclass style lessons
Private lessons you will schedule with an instructor
Work-Along time – Allows you to drop in and work at the same time as our master technicians and chat
The times for these will be available on the Canvas Calendar. Live classes and Private Lessons will typically be on a Saturday 9-4pm CST and/or evenings 6-9pm based on our teacher availability.
Each course is taught by some of the industries’ best master repair technicians.
Our Level One courses – you have up to 6 months to participate in the course and submit assignments working towards your certificate. The course content will always be available to you. There are no refunds offered once you have been enrolled.

| Denatured Alcohol – 1 can |
| Q-Tips – 1 large package |
| DAP Weldwood Contact Cement- 1 container |
| Small soft paintbrush or toothbrush (bristles don’t matter) – flat bristled brush |
| Emery cloth – 240 grit (for sanding tenon corks) |
| Emery board – pack of 10, or similar (for sanding key corks) |
| Cigarette paper – OCB un-gummed, or any brand with gummed edge cut off |
